Buy Me Love

What’s up Yard, it’s ya boy B-Wood! I’ve got some good news and some bad news! The good news is that it seems like my Wizards are back on track. We’ve won 4 of our last 5 games and have another tough game tonight against Toronto! It definitely seems like everything is coming together for us at the right time. Antawn Jamison’s play during this stretch has been stellar, Earl Boykins is giving us a huge spark off the bench and Nick Young looks like he’s coming into his own! The bad news is that as good as things are going for us right now, they’re going just that bad for my man Tiger Woods!

As everybody knows, there’s been a media circus buzzing about what Tiger called his “transgressions.” And while I will acknowledge that what Tiger did was wrong and irresponsible, my biggest problem in this situation isn’t with Tiger, it’s with his wife, Elin Woods! They say you can’t put a price on love but someone obviously never told Elin that! After hearing of Tiger’s extramarital affairs, her first move wasn’t to go to her family for help; she went straight to the bank! If you haven’t heard, just days after this whole situation was brought to light, Elin had the couple’s prenuptial agreement restructured and immediately had $5 million dollars put inter her personal account – this just in order to stay in the marriage. Before this situation, she was supposed to get $20 million dollars if they divorced after a 10-year period. Now that’s been shortened to 7-years and she’ll get $55 million (and that’s after the $5 million has already been put into her account.) Some media sources are reporting that there are even clauses in the agreement that could take this deal up to $75 mil!

Call me “old fashion” but this sounds more like a business deal than a marriage to me. I know Elin was probably deeply hurt by Tiger’s actions but Tiger’s wallet isn’t the way to restore things in the Woods’ household! Another fact lost in all of this is that these affairs wouldn’t have even come to light if Elin hadn’t gotten all Jazmine Sullivan on Tiger and “busted the windows out his car!” This could’ve been settled nice and quietly behind closed doors. All I’m saying is that Elin better be glad she’s married to Tiger Woods instead of Chris Brown or this whole story could’ve been reported differently!

The group Backstreet had an old song called “Buy Me Love.” The premise of the song is that money can’t buy you love. I’m going to buy that old album and send it to Elin for Christmas! Whatever happened to the saying “stand by your man?” Like my man AI (Allen Iverson) said a long time ago, “Nobody is squeaky clean!” And if I was Tiger, the fact that it took mega-millions to keep Elin in this marriage would make me question her love for me, her motives and how committed she is to their family.

I know some people are going to say that I’m wrong and heartless but I just want everyone to know that there are two victims here. And even though they say you can’t put a price on love, we now know that the price is $75-80 million dollars!

Now Yard, I ain’t saying she’s a gold digger, but she ain’t messing with no broke “_ _ _ _ _!”

  I couldn't care less about Tiger and Elin. Sick of all the news behind it, really.
  
  What I do care about is getting those W's. B-Wood - You been playing great lately. Doing what you're supposed to be doing, and doing it well. The offensive rebounds, the shutting down of opposing big men... You're huge for us.
  
  I do have a question though. Do you think the absence of Dave Hopla is making any difference on the team? I know you've been out for a season, but your free throw percentage isn't nearly as high as it was in the season before you left. Us hardcore Bullets Fans love to attribute your record FT% to Dave Hopla. How true is that? I know Gil liked Hopla too. Why didn't he stay?
  
  Also, give some love to Nick Young for me. I've always been a biased fan of his, and I can't help but realize his huge impact on these 4 W's in the last 5 games - that's when Flip put him back into the Starting lineup. I love Mike Miller (got the sweetest shot in the NBA), but I'll be sad to see Nick Young go back to the bench. Whatever, I'm sure Flip's got it taken care of.

  Gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you on that one. My whole issue with this mess is that it's become a public spectacle. What Tiger did was wrong, yes. Elin's reaction probably could have been better too. However, everyone knows that if this had happened to some random dude, it wouldn't be making international news. The fact that it's playing out in public is what is costing Tiger all that money. If 'money can't buy love' then Tiger can just let her go. He WANTS her to stay because without her, his endorsement deals will surely take a hit. I don't think it has anything to do with Elin being greedy, in fact, I think it's the opposite. Tiger doesn't want her to leave for pure business reasons, and everyone knows, if you wanna be in the game, you gotta pay the price.

    This is what is really happening. Tiger is BEGGING her to stay, He will lose more in endorsements then he is giving her. If he really loved her he would not have played around with 3 other women! He has 2 little children in a marriage of 5 years and he is the one not in love. I for one am totally on her side he should not represent to the public a squeaky clean family man image and then go dicking around! The intensity of her wanting to whack his head in with a golf club shows more emotional involvement then anyone gives her credit for. She was Totally taken by surprise as we all were.     I think you've hit the nail on the head! Money seems to work both ways in the Tiger Woods' family. She has two beautiful children to take care of and protect. Too bad Tiger didn't put his family first. Call it whatever you want, but the man put his______ ahead of everything else. He's rich and I guess he figures he can buy whatever he wants. He was the "darling" of golf. We loved Tiger. Wonder what his dear departed father would think of this screw up. Seems like money sure CAN buy Tiger love!! Wonder how much he pays his various girlfriends for "love"?

  I have to say man, I think you are being one sided with your argument. Wheres Elins love for Tiger? Are you serious? The girl has stayed out of the media for all these years, she's not making any sh*tty reality show to capitalize on her husbands popularity after all these years. The girl put her whole modeling career to the side to be with this man so if Tiger cheats on her I don;t blame her for wanting some of her own cash. I mean I see where you are coming from because you yourself have girls throwing themselves at you and you probably know how easy it is to screw up. But dude, she just popped out a kid and has now found out her husband is cheating on her with a bunch of cocktail waitresses. And as far as I'm concerned Tiger is the one who is all about the money. If she leaves him, he loses his endorsement deals. But if he gets her to sign the contract she can't leave him and his endorsement deals stay in tact. He is being way greedier here, in my opinion.   He got off cheap. First, the prenup was his idea. If he had a million dollar, she would get the equivalent of $20,000 and not a dime of all future earnings. He treated her like hired help. Second, this negotiation was also his idea. He needs her more than she needs him. If she is a golddigger, she is not a very good one. Third, we have no idea what happened in their home that led up to the smashed windows and car wreck. Was he drunk and abusive to her as well as her mother and his own? Maybe it was mama who tried to punish the bad boy.

  I understand her hurt and pain, especially after just having two babies for him. She was never in life going to want for anything again ANYWAY. Let's keep it real. She had no need to go for the wallet, but she did. One thing she did that I definitely would've done is go after him with that golf club. He'd have been wearing his $1200 nine iron around his neck like some bling. But I wouldn't have gone for the money. But maybe that's just me. I've always made my own money. Don't need to leech off of someone else's for anything.

    Elin is a mother of 2 beautiful children and its not easy to have/raise them.
    Tiger.just like most of you guys just has his brain below his waist and should use it in the right place.Thats what makes us different from dogs.
    As far as the money is concerned - thats their bussiness but she and their children deserve it as much as he does.

  Oh, I totally agree. That's the new terms of agreement nowadays and it's terribly wrong. It should have been worked out secretly. Too, if it was him busting the windows out instead of her he would have been standing trial like Chris Brown or even worse, like O. J. I'm sure she's doing that to get back at him. One for one is still wrong though.
  
  It just seems when you're rich or wealthy you can't get married. No man is perfectly spotless and soon will slip up in one way or another in marriage and the woman will be right there when it happens, heading for the money. Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! There has to be a better way.

  When Tiger Woods ask Elin to sign a Pre-Nup before they got married he set the tone of the marriage. So she has the right to have a new one drawn up, fact she took vows to be faithful to her husband and family. Tiger Woods took vows to his bank account, if he was so in love with Elin there would have not been a need for a contract. You guys need to read Proverbs on how to treat your spouse or girl friend. Men think nothing of sleeping around and bringing disease(s) back home to the woman they claim they love. Remember Aids is still out there it has not gone away. Elin has been thrown into the public eye now married to a man that broke his wedding vows to his wife and children. Remember the Steve McNair affair and how it ended, Remember Magic Johnson, if you are not ready to marry and stay true to your marriage and kids stay out there in the street with your disease(s) and see how long you last.

    I agree for the most part...........but let's be real, if a man asked you to marry him and you know that he is worth millons of dollars, and then he asked you to sign a pre-nup, what would you do? If you put up a fight and say no - then it would make you look like you just want to be in it because of the money. If you love someone like you say you do, signing a pre-nup shouldn't be the issue - if money is not what you are looking for. These athletes are only protecting what they have and to be honest nobody in their right mind can go against that. Be real with yourself.

  For your information, a marrige has always been a contractual agreement and historical always about the exchange of wealth. In the case of pre-nuptials, it is all about business and the protection of wealth, it has nothing to do with how the couple feels about each other, and the pre-nup was Tiger choice. So to the next step, in the world of business when there are transgressions, there are law suits, which either are settled out of court or go to trial. Just consider this one of those suits that was settled out of court.

  Now lets take a good look at Elin. Elin has never been a media whore and she has never pushed herself or their kids into the public eye. Elin even used to be a model but never became a mega model and instead was dude's nanny. That right there shines light on the type of person she is. The quiet life that Elin enjoyed with her husband and kids is gone forever. Hell, look at Brad and Angie,... years later they're still forefront in all of the tabloids.
  Tiger has had an exceptional image with his fans by sounding mature and intelligent. He also has made pretty good decisions, until now. Tiger needs Elin to stay with him and forgive him, not only for the sake of his image, but for his children's sake. Stepping out on her is also stepping out on them. Tiger would be doing anything right about now to keep her from leaving him, even if that means padding her bank account. Besides, because she will not be able to 'hide' from the media, she may need that kind of money to help maintain the lowest profile possible.
  Also, if Tiger is the one giving her the money, why is she the one being viewed as money grubbing? And to top that off, why hasn't anyone accused the mistress of being money grubbing considering that Tiger has paid her off so she won't talk. Why is Elin taking the heat on this when THAT accusation really belongs to Tiger and the mistress?
  Has anyone considered the possibility that Elin may not have been the person to bring up money? Maybe she was presented with an offer that she literally could not refuse.
  Lastly, many, many people cheat in relationships these days and they don't have to be celebrities to do it. Some couples can't recover, but some can. We need to consider the possibility that Elin and Tiger CAN recover (as I hope they can) and the money will become a mute point.

  I agree that Tiger was wrong but for different reasons. First of all, if he wanted to be out there sleeping with anything thrown at him, he should never have married. But once he did, he should of respected and honored the commitment he made and been faithful. As for Elin, this appears to have been a business negoitation for her from the start, that's why the prenup had a 10-year clause in it. Now it seems she is just renegotiating her terms. I think both of them are getting exactly what they deserve. Marriage is a sacred commitment not a business negotiation.

  I have to agree with you. If I was tiger, I would divorce her and make sure she doesn't get a dime(we all know that she assaulted him) . Maybe she is a gold digger, but I believe Tiger knew that before he married her. A woman don't just get up one day and say "I'm going to be a gold digger", being a gold digger is a way of thinking. Our generation don't have a clue on the definition of marriage and what's required to be married. Marriage suppose to be a union not a business deal. "if you love me then you would not cheat" is an ignorant statement. We all are capable of cheating, no one in this world is above it.   Ok....so you thing she came running in with attorneys.....let's see what facts we have been given via the media. Tiger has had multiple ongoing liasons for a few years, his wife possibly took a 7 iron to him and his car, he crashed and admitted his wrong doing.
  
  They had a prenup in existence, now rumor has it Tiger is paying off Rachael not to expose more dirty laundry. Here is food for thought, think Tiger is doing damage control to save his empire, since from what I read says they have moral clauses and a divorce at this point would take down his income producing empire but vast amounts.
  
  So now Tiger and his people bring this on the table to keep her in the marriage as a business arrangement, and who knows possibly try and work it out at the same time, knowing time will heal all wounds. Using money is deplorable in my opinion, but what other option did he have.......Not sure if I agree with you that she came running after money, pretty sure she would of done well in the legal system even with the prenup from what I understand it too had infidelity clauses in it. What lawyer would not throw that in there when writing one up?
  
  Anywho.....in my opinion, he should take a year off of golf, and work on his family if that is truly what he wants, to sacrifice for the love of his wife and children.......time spent is the only thing that can work things out!!

    What you are saying doesn't make any sense considering she has no claim to the empire... that is what the preunp is for. If they divorce now before the new contract is set she only gets the minimum stated in the prenup. So why would HIS attorneys add more money to keep her around in order for the big bucks to pay out later. They would benefit better by advising Tiger to leave now so she can't collect the larger amount later. It HAS to be her side increasing volume here. Tiger is very wrong and the kids now have a publicly broken family but COME ON she is obviously an opportunist or she would have just demanded a divorce or forced him into therapy; forbidding him to have any female friends or something. And let's not overlook the fact that she beat him too! Why isn't she arrested for domestic voilence?

    I think your confused? You just said if prenup exists, and he bolted now, why would he have to pay anything more cause it exists. There were infidelity clauses in it, if you have not read in the press. You and I don't know the extent of the clauses. If his high powered, and I might add, must be high powered attorneys with the income he produces felt she had no ground to stand on, they would squash this entire thing.
    
    This is damgage control according to the moral clauses from his sponsors. Can you say buy out money to keep her quiet from airing any other dirty laundry, not to mention losing possibly 50 mil per year over the next 5 years should she leave him?

In fact I am very shocked, disappointed and saddened, however I was just saying the same thing.......why are they not talking about their relationship, their feelings for one another, doing what is best for the children, etc. Instead, within a day or so it is all about the money.   Excuse me, 'old fashioned', but this marriage was doomed from the get-go. For starters, they lived together before they got married. Second, the original prenup (PRENUP as in BEFORE they got married) was Tiger's idea to protect his assets, which should be an indicator of his committment to the marriage. Thirdly, and to your credit, Elin was also a fool for accepting the prenup unless of course she wasn't 100% committed either. Fourthly, and perhaps most damming is that since we evolved from animals and thus have no moral compass whatsoever, everyone does what is right in their own eyes. What the hell do we expect to happen in any marriage?????

  WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN??? Everyone is so concerned about how much money Tiger will lose or how much Elin will get but what kind of environment is this going to be for the children. This will eventually end in divorce even if Elin has to stick it out for a few years cuz you can't trust Tiger anymore. He will be traveling all over the world and you know he will do it again even if he doesn't how can you trust him. So these children will have to go through a custody battle and face living in a broken(but rich)home.

She should have kept everything between the two of them, talk it out and go to counseling. Those wives of politicians or public figure always have stood behind their men even when the heartache is very obvious in their demeanor while in front of cameras. That's what Elin should have done. She should have help her husband the damage control action instead of going to the bank and up her ante. Clearly, this is probably the scenario she had been waiting for.

  If she was supposed to get $20 million dollars if they divorced after a 10-year period. It's Tiger Wood's fault it seems she is just renegotiating her terms. I think both of them are getting exactly what they deserve. Marriage is a sacred commitment not a business negotiation. At the end the kids are left without a father and a famliy cause they will find out what happen to there parents by other people when they get older and that there sucks big time. Forget about the money and term about the marriage its the kid's that have to live with that friends. The thing i can say is that there human the only thing is that he is Tiger Woods so now he pays the price of being a great golfer.   I would agree with you about your side on Elin if he cheated one time , maybe a month, confessed to her and went back to being a loyal husband. But he cheated several times. How much is a woman supposed to take? They have children too . And you don't know their private conversations....who knows what lines tiger has given her to try and make her stay and work it out before the big explosion with the golf club. Tiger is paying her to keep his image. Now Tiger only feels bad because he got caught. He was perfectly fine cheating with the women or he would have stopped on his own after the first one.

  Are you serious!!!!! What is your problem...I am disgusted you would say that Elin should "stand by her man". Obviously that quote does not apply to Elin any longer...her "man" is also the "man" to three other women. So why the heck should she stand by him. I am so appalled by Tiger's actions. His wife has been very humble over the years unlike other sports star wives and stayed out of the spotlight in order to take care of their family. This just goes to show hom much Tiger appreciates her and all she has done for him. What a jerk to put it extremely lightly.

He condemns Tiger for the affairs, and condemns Elin for committing Assault, Battery, Vandalism, and Extortion--4 crimes in this country for which she could (and perhaps should) be locked up. Elin's reaction says way more about her values and integrity than anyone else's. Her goal is obviously to live large and never work again.   I used to think that Tiger was an intelligent and classy athlete, but he has proven himself to be another dumb jock who thinks with his dick. He was out screwing his girlfriends while his wife was home pregnant with his children. Now that is a stand up guy. All of us common guys from carpenters, electricians, plumbers, to dentists, engineers, accountants agree to a full community property deal when we get married. That means if we decide to get divorced we lose half of everything. We know the deal and live with it. If we leave we have to live in an apartment or refinance our house to pay out half of the equity we have. Then we sit there and try to pick up the pieces, which is what our ex wives are doing at the same time. Tiger has so much money even if he lost half of it his lifestyle would not change appreciably. Now you are crying because Tiger is offering her chump change percentage wise, so Tiger Corp can continue with its endorsement deals. It will look good to have his beautiful wife smiling at him acting as if nothing is wrong at public events. He is the one who is trying to turn her into a prostitute. If he cares about her as the mother of his children and as his wife he would be offering her a full 50-50 deal to stay with him. The same one that all of us common guys agree to. He is just another spoiled rich jock who thinks he can offer her chump change relative to his fortune.   Brendan, You summed it up completely! Great article! Elin is in it for the money now. A woman loves emotionally before physically and Elin has been hurt very deeply emotionallly. Now, she is looking to secure her future, along with her children's future. The only way she can 'fight back' is to hurt Tiger in the wallet! She's going for broke.
  The trust is gone. Even if Elin stays in the marriage, it's been strained to the limit and it will never be the same. Been there. It's very difficult...and with all of their personal business now in the media, it will be something they will have to deal with forever.

  As far as what Tiger did, we really don't know why and it's none of our business. As far as what his wife is doing, it seems her motives are somewhat clear.
  
  I'm not sure I agree with labelling Elin a "Golddigger". I looked up the definition of prostitute and it reads, "One who sells one's abilities, talent, or name for an unworthy purpose". It seems to me that the love is completely over. If I'm corrct, a reasonible, decent woman in this position might find protecting her reputation and that of her children more important than trying to parlay this event into a cash accumulating opportunity. Therefore, it also seems to me that since her marriage to Tiger is now based on financial gain, I would deem using the marriage front to achieve that end an "unworthy cause".
  
  The above said, if it were me and my wife came at me with a new proposition that was based on her material gain, I'd put a cheque in her pocket and give her the boot! The fact that Tiger is considering or accommodating her offer tells me the other women must have F_____ed his brains away 'cause man, what are you thinking. This now becomes all about keeping those endorsements. So then, it seems Tiger might be putting himself right out on the street beside Elin. Amazing isn't it that the need to aquire mind blowing wealth has actually blown both their minds! If Tiger agrees to this insanity, then it comes to me that the prostitute definition just might apply to both. In that case, both deserve whatever comes their way.
  
  My advice for the two of them is this, Tiger, find someone that loves you for you.........cash or no cash. Elin, buy a pair of CFM boots and start walkin' the streets.

  One or two hoes , we might be able to work through this. But, Cheetah Woods body count keeps rising. I don't think he has enough money to keep me there. He's clearly not ready to be a husband. By that, I mean fateful. Anybody can be a provider and protector.
  
  I agree, if you have it in your heart to forgive and move on, then why should you be paid to do so. The payout will just add to his sense of entitlement. It's not going to fix theirs or his problem, if all he has to do is pay her off when he gets in trouble.

  How do you think they should have handled it? I mean seriously, I know women who stay in health clinics because of cheating husbands. One found out she was HIV positive, after the doctor ran lab work on her newborn with full blown AIDS. So, how else should she had handled that? You don't think she should have been mad?     She has the right to be mad - but if she hit him with a golf club or meant to hit him, that is just wrong. He may have cheated but he did not deserve to be physically attacked. I don't consider many athletes "role models" because most of them are overpaid for what they do. If a guy or girl doesn't want to be faithful to one person, they should not get married. Not only is he paying off his "other" women, he is paying off his wife. This relationship is obviously not love. If my hubby cheated on me I would be devestated, and no amount of money would make me feel better.

  OK, I’m the last man on earth who would care to have coached Mr. Tiger Woods on how best to have concealed his “transgressions”, but come on now, text messages, voice mails, flying his mistress to Australia, how stupid can he be?
  
  Just because he is a master manipulator of every golf course challenge, this skill set obviously does not translate into the high stakes game of adultery. Tiger failed to realize that if he has to rely on a caddy when playing the game that he dominates, when he tries his hand at another game, that of playing the field, he should have sought the advice of a seasoned pro, a caddy if you will, or perhaps called upon a subject matter expert like my ex-wife, but I digress.
  
  Enough about me and Tiger though. It’s about the children, for as my son stated emphatically to his Mother, but yet, so unfortunately all for naught, “in a divorce the children come first”! Yes, we have read this week about the mind staggering offers, 5 million, 55 million dollars, 2 more years to stay with Tiger, 10 more years to stay, pre-nup re-writes…oh excuse me, have we, like my ex-wife, forgot about something, that would be the children?
  
  Yes, what are the children going to think when they mature, and have the courage to seek to understand the truth of how their Mother sold out, at their expense? What type of lesson is Elin going to be teaching them? ‘Well kids, he cheated on me, but he paid me a lot of money, so, you’ll be fine, everyone will be fine’…no, they won’t be fine Elin. They will be smart enough to realize that their Mother has as little regard for her morals, as their Father has for his.
  
  There’s a word for actually accepting money for performing wifely duties, how stupid can “this” Mother be? Who is she going to fool? What type of marriage is that? Most importantly though, what kind of message is this going to be sending to the children? ‘Oh yeah, he disrespected me kids, but after all, 10 mills to hang around and put on an act for a few more years on the assumption that you kids won’t pick up on the fact of how he treats me, and we wouldn’t be good role models as loving parents, well, {she says as she realizes she once again has backed herself into a verbal corner and thus walks away} for once it’s all about me’!
  
  Elin is as stupid, selfish and narcissistic as Tiger if she does nothing less than demonstrate to her children and make the statement that no amount of money is as important as her dignity, and the example that she makes of herself for the benefit of her children. In our world of self-absorption, “some people” think it’s a right that their children will forgive them, but it is not a right, it’s a privilege, and that privilege has to be earned.
  
  If Tiger never had the brains to look to the advice of a caddy so he wouldn’t have ended up in this mess in the first place, perhaps Elin will learn from his mistakes, and seek the guidance of someone experienced in prioritizing the needs of the children, because after that, nothing really else matters.

Tiger Cheated and he was busted.... that is terrible and she needs to have sympathy and from some of us, empathy. But what Brendan is pointing out is the consequencial dealings immediately after he was caught. Men and women cheat on their spouses everyday and those who truly want to stay married work through it with therapy, restrictions or if it is unworkable- divorce. Those who are money hungry run to the attorneys and get an increase on their stock because they are now sure it may not work; so they want to cover self. I can only imagine the emotional distress his family is going through because of this. If he felt the need to cheat, he should have taken the step in the first place to get them help.   Brendan, I am surprisingly shocked at your responses on your blog. While you are a athlete/celebrity it seems you are completely out of touch with reality. Why on earth you would attack a women who stays out of the spotlight, doesn't look for any acknowledgement whatsoever is disgraceful. What's more, that you would defend tiger and his actions makes me think differently of you.
  Saying she was "just a nanny" is absurd, and gives the impression that is not a noble profession. Furthermore, it was a summer job as reported to pay for her studies. Unlike you with a free ride to UNC some people have to pay for school. Not everyone can take a round sphere and put it through a circle with your precision (put that on a resume lmao). She shapes the mind of a youth, which in these days and times is needed more than ever. I notice you were born in NY. Perhaps a nanny could have done you some good, you wouldn't have this picture of women as you do. So you make millions, alot of people look up to you, and listen to what you have to say.....and this is what you come up with. I totally expected more out of a UNC product, but i guess you can't teach common sense.
  
  Tiger chose to pursue her, Tiger chose to marry her. It is a contract, just like you have with the wizards. To say this is her fault is short sigted and extremely immature Brendan, therefore I am no longer a fan.

  There isn't a single thing wrong with Elin being compensated given the circumstances. How anyone can fault her for the situation she is in is beyond me. Perhaps Tiger wasn't getting what he needed from her, but a mature person handles it waaaayyyy differently than Tiger has handled it. It's been said that he didn't use a condom - what should Elin get if she contracts an STD?
  
  But my question is: What man or woman needs and has time for a dozen (give or take) toys on the side? Hmmmm....maybe one that is juicing? It's common knowledge that taking steroids elevates your sex drive well beyond that which is normal.

  I agree with you B, if truly in love, it's normally the lawyer that brings up the money.It would seem to me that if you really were in love you would want to know why, not how much. What he did was totally wrong especially without condoms. To Tiger, you don't have a continued relationship with an outside woman it's hit and run. He needs to work on his game if he's gonna play. It's cheaper to be true. And why would you pay someone to stay? Let her go and learn from your stupidity.

  Brendan- I was directed to your blog via Deadspin and I was hoping to find you saying something irrational so I could send it to my family (they're all Heel grads; I'm a Dukie) with the headline "Coach K would never recruit somebody like this!"...but after reading your blog and comments I realize you're a smart, very rational, independent thinker and quite frankly I agree with most everything you say. Keep up the good work. I would add that it's religious views on adultery that has caused our society to cast such a large cloud over having extramarital affairs. I'd be willing to bet that what first comes to mind for most Americans when asked what 'marriage' means is "my partner cannot have sex with anyone else but me"...it's selfishly wrong and possessive

  How the heck do you know this? I'm assuming Tiger told you this, or Elin told you. However I am doubting that. You are making a huge assumption.
  You even contradicted your self, you said she went straight to bank, but then you said days later she restructured prenup. Well which one was it. Did she go right to the bank or did she do this days later?
  Also what is to say that she is the one who wanted the restructuring, is it possible Tiger wanted to restructure it? We have no clue about anything but you make these assumptions.
  Also you have no class, how can you say there are two victims. Tiger cheated on his wife, not once but multiple times. He lied to his wife, and to his followers, saying that his wife and family are more important than winning. He said that this summer after winning a tournament.
  Not sure if you are married or not but if you are, what does your wife think of you cheating on her?

  Dear Mr. Softee... As someone who has been posing as an NBA basketball player all these years, you know all to well how it feels to take someone's money and run to the bank. What a famous golfer and his wife are going through is really none of your business nor is it something you should be expending your energy on. You need to pay more attention to your craft. As inconsistent as your play has been since you became a wizard, you're still getting paid millions ( I don't think you feel any remorse for that). You entered into a contract that pays you regardless of your performance.
  
  Two people entering into a marriage is also a business arrangement especially when a prenuptial agreement is involved. Now if the agreement states that if you were to commit adultery you would have to pay out an additional sum of money that's something both parties had agreed to. It's no different than incentive clauses in the NBA (although you probably wouldn't know anything about seeing that you haven't accomplished anything in the NBA). In most states when a couple divorces the woman generally gets custudy of the children and half of the communal assets...imagine half of a billion, wow!
  
  So, now you and Lavar and all you other media wnatabes who never amounted to or accomplished squat for this city, you need to just shut up and PLAY BALL!!

  Would she have married him had he been just another black man, lets say Tiger woods the car salesman?? HEEEELLLLS NO, she married him simply because he is Tiger Woods the International Star Golfer.
