Clearing the Air

Aight Yard – It’s ya boy B-wood just chilling in DC on a cold Monday night enjoying a great Monday night football game between the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans! It's going to be an early night for me because we’ve got a big game tomorrow night against the Philadelphia 76ers and we really need this win, especially since we’re at home! The season has started out a little rocky and hasn’t gone the way I envisioned it but we can turn this thing around tomorrow with a strong win against Philly. Don’t worry Wizards’ fans, we’re down but we're not out. We’re gonna get this thing fixed and give yall a product to be proud of!

I also wanted to address some comments that I recently made in the paper. After a very frustrating two-game road trip where my team was defeated by the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs, I made some comments that were misconstrued. If you didn’t catch it, I basically said that everyone on our team needs to check their egos at the door and play as a team. I thought it was a simple comment but some media outlets made it sound like my comments were directed toward Gilbert Arenas. I just wanted to let all Wizards fans know that’s the furthest thing from the truth. Please don’t believe or buy into that. Gil and I are friends and we communicate all the time off the court through text messages. If I ever had a problem with him, I’d take it directly to him and not go through the media. My comments about people needing to check their egos at the door was not directed at one person but to my entire team – myself included. Because, at different points in this season, we’ve all let our egos get in the way of what we’ve needed to do to be successful.

Aight Yard – now that I’ve cleared that up, I’m gonna get back to enjoying this Monday night football game. I’m gone!

  But what's up with Arenas going back into the shower after seeing you talk to reporters, and what's up with you singing something about "ego" as Arenas is talking to reporters? Was it all BS?

  Brendan, ignore them , but they really do a little extra writing and reading between the lines, instead of supporting the organization and the team. You know when team looses and everybody is digging dirt.I am sure if we were winning nobody will talk smack.Just keep doing what you do man , you have career season coming after injury - I wish you health and lets tonight game be the first of series wins this season, the team and the fans deserve it.Respect

  I'm glad the team is coming together during this rough start. I was kind of shocked to hear about locker room issues. For the most part this team has always appeared to have great chemistry(minus your scuffles with Etan). The only way to get through this is to stay close and trust each other. I think its clear you can't trust the media to sort out problems. Keep doing what you do BWood, you're still under appreciated across the league.

  It makes sense that only too much sense that you and Gil' wouldn't have issues considering how you guys are the last two guys to be stepping on each others toes with such wildly different roles on the team.
  
  Actually I thought that the D.C. Blogs/Media dispelled the idea of the rift pretty well the next day.

  B-Wood, I know you're a good teammate. I've followed your career since UNC. So I will say what you can't say but undoubtedly feel: The sooner Gil starts playing TEAM ball and all that that entails, the sooner three and nine will be reversed. Not even MJ in his heyday would be able to come back and be his old self after having three knee surgeries in two plus years. Because he's signed through '14 with a maxed out deal, he knows there's nothing anyone can do about his selfishness. Also, sorry for the loss of your owner Mr. Pollin. Hopefully, people will let him rest in peace and not bring up his past failings.

  Brendan, word is out you sold your house in VA. Speculation is that means you're leaving DC next year when your contract's up. Not that I expect you to say anything now other than: "I haven't decided what I'm doing next season. I'm just trying to do everything I can to turn this season around and the future will take care of itself." But, still, you sold your house.

  Hey Brenda, great games last couple games my man. Keep up the good work. I scratched my head when Boykins was first picked up but dude is balling and so are the Wiz. Now, lets spank the Raptors again on Friday. Hopefully you will shut down Bosh again. What a game! Go Wiz!
