Alabama senior guard Mark Sears is finally getting some national attention for his strong season leading the Crimson Tide basketball program.
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association named 40 players to its 2023-24 Oscar Robertson Trophy and All-America Watch List on Tuesday with Alabama's Mark Sears being one of the honorees.
The All-American team will be announced be for the NCAA Tournament while the recipient of the Oscar Robertson Trophy winner will be announced at the Final Four.
Sears is one of players on the list from the SEC. He joins Auburn's Johni Broome, Tennessee's Dalton Knecht and Kentucky's Antonio Reeves as watch-list members.
The Crimson Tide star leads the conference in scoring with 20.4 points per game, and is seventh in the league in assists with 4.1. He's scored 20-points or more in 17 games this year, one-game shy of tying James “Hollywood” Robinson's 18 games achievement in 1992-93.
