The Detroit Pistons announced on Saturday that the team has signed former Syracuse guard Buddy Boeheim to a two-way contract.
Boeheim, 22, is 6-foot-6 and spent all four collegiate seasons at Syracuse, where he played for father and legendary Orange coach Jim Boeheim. Buddy Boeheim led the ACC in scoring at 19.2 points as a senior, to go with 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists, on his way to first-team all-ACC honors.
Two-way players are destined to spend most of their time in the G League, though they can appear in up to 50 NBA games before signing a standard deal.
All NBA contracts can be finalized once the new league year begins next week. The Las Vegas summer league tips off July 7.
