Caitlin Clark is shining bright in her senior year as the guard of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The young star’s impact on the women’s college basketball is unreal. Fans are filling up arenas to witness the star play in the NCAA tournament. Her popularity has reached some of the biggest stars in the USA.
American rapper Ice Cube has offered $5 Million to Caitlin Clark to play 10 games in the Big 3 league. The rapper confirmed the news through his social media calling Clark a ‘generational talent’. The reason behind this offer; Ice Cube explained was his motive for women to play and earn money in the US itself without having to turn to foreign countries. He also believes that can make history and break down barriers for women athletes.
While the decision mostly received compliments from the netizens, a member of the league was not happy with Ice Cube’s offer. WNBA star, the Los Angeles Sparks’ Lexie Brown shared her thoughts on the offer in a recent episode of the Gil’s Arena podcast. Brown believed the reason behind the rapper’s offer was disrespectful to the foreign countries that provide the WNBA players opportunities. Brown said:
You pretty much offended all of the European countries that open their doors for us. Lexie Brown said
On the other hand, the 2021 champion stated that the reason for empowering women does not make sense as Clark is not yet in the WNBA. The athlete believes that the offer is about business expansion and the rapper is not being truthful about his motives for women empowerment. Brown added:
To mask it in this "I want to uplift and support WNBA players and women athletes” is kind of a cop out I think. Lexie Brown added

Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. was offended by the WNBA star’s words. He took to his social media to respond to Brown’s comments about Caitlin Clark’s Big 3 offer. Jackson implied that Brown had misunderstood the reason behind the offer and called her out by posting on his X.
Jackson defended his father saying that the rapper never mentioned the WNBA. The rapper wrote about American woman athletes and their empowerment in his tweets. Jackson also responded to the athlete’s comments about disrespecting foreign countries. Jackson wrote:
He also said “they should have more than just one professional option in the US” and not be “forced” to go overseas to make ends meet. O’Shea Jackson Jr wrote on X
He did not say every country was dismal. He said “often” the Same way she said “there are SOME beautiful countries…”

And correct me if I’m wrong but did he say WNBA? Because the tweet I saw said “Americas women athletes”
He also said “they should have more than just one… https://t.co/AjSWVtYmAl
Jackson challenged all of Brown’s claims in his tweet. The rapper’s son ended the post by mentioning that Clark is currently the biggest name in women’s basketball. The star’s popularity was the reason the news got leaked and Ice Cube had to post about it on X.
