Miami Hurricanes Have Huge Opportunity With Top Tight End

It’s time to usher in the Class of 2025, and the Miami Hurricanes are gearing up for a promising start as the Dead Period for high school prospects concludes on January 12.

The Hurricanes are wasting no time in pursuing a top offensive target, with Peachtree City (Ga.) McIntosh tight end, Hollis Davidson, making plans for an unofficial visit to South Florida on January 13.

Davidson boasts an impressive offer sheet, including offers from prestigious programs such as Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Penn State. He stands out as one of the most sought-after tight ends in the South for this recruiting cycle and holds the distinction of being the highest-ranked uncommitted tight end in Georgia. This is particularly significant, as Georgia has consistently produced top-tier talent at the tight end position.

Standing tall at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 230 pounds, Davidson embarked on game day visits to prominent football programs such as Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida State, and Tennessee during the past fall season. His upcoming visit to Miami will provide him with a fresh perspective on what the Hurricanes have to offer.

During his junior season, Davidson demonstrated his skills on the field, recording 30 receptions for 436 yards, averaging an impressive 14.5 yards per catch, and contributing three touchdowns to his team’s success.

Intriguingly, there are familial connections to Penn State in Davidson’s background. His father, Hollis Sr., has a history with the university, having played volleyball in State College. Additionally, his aunt achieved recognition as a three-time All-American volleyball player for the Nittany Lions. These ties may add an interesting layer to Davidson’s decision-making process.

As of now, Miami already boasts three commitments for the Class of 2025. These include four-star wide receiver Waden Charles from Palm Beach Central, linebacker Elijah Melendez from Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola, and quarterback Luke Nickel from Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton. This early commitment group is currently ranked No. 20 nationally, setting the stage for a promising recruitment season ahead.
