It's not often that the North Carolina State Wolfpack find themselves in the news for a recruiting win. That's not to say NC State doesn't have good players, but rather, top recruits in the region tend to go elsewhere if they're wanting to play big-time ACC football — such as to Clemson or even North Carolina.
With that said, head coach Dave Doeren is coming off a 9-3 regular season that saw the Wolfpack win five in a row, including wins over Clemson and North Carolina. NC State is hot, and as such, Doeren's program just received a big-time win on the recruiting trail as well.
Elijah Groves, four-star linebacker from Cross Plains, Tennessee, has committed to the Wolfpack.

Groves committed to NC State over the Kentucky Wildcats — who he decommitted from on Tuesday — Virginia Tech, Memphis and Purdue. He had been committed to Kentucky since the summer of 2023, effectively making this a big-time flip for the Wolfpack.
According to 247Sports, Groves is the No. 12 linebacker in the 2024 class as well as a Top 150 recruit nationally.
A tremendous athlete at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds. he helped his East Robertson High School team to a 13-2 record as a star on both sides of the ball.
He notched 76 tackles and a sack on defense while catching 30 passes for 506 yards and six touchdowns on offense
