Oregon Lands Standout Big Ten Defensive Star In A Shocking Move Which Will Make Many Big Ten Teams Very Angry
Nick King/Lansing State Journal / USA TODAY NETWORK

Oregon is heading into its first Big Ten season as one of the best teams in the country, and they made one of the best moves you can make to your roster at the beginning of May.

Oregon Is Getting Ready For Their First Big Ten Season

The Ducks are leaving the Pac-12, which is down to two teams in Oregon State and Washington State, and heading to the Big Ten. If you know anything about Big Ten football, you have to play defense, and if you can’t stop the run, you won’t win many games. Oregon made sure they could play defense and stop the run this season by adding a star who already plays in the conference.

Michigan State’s Defensive Tackle Is Heading To Eugene

Hayes Fawcett from On3.com posted on social media on Friday, “Former Michigan State Standout DL Derrick Harmon has Committed to Oregon.”

“The 6’5 325 DL totaled 69 Tackles, 3.5 Sacks, & 1 FF in his time with the Spartans. Was the Top Available DL in the Portal (per On3).”

According to Pro Football Focus, Harmon had a 78.4 PFF grade last season, sixth among Big Ten defensive tackles.

Harmon Choose The Ducks Over Three Other Big Ten Schools

A report on Thursday said the 6-foot-5 defensive tackle was down to five schools, including Oregon, USC, Ohio State,  Colorado, and heading back to Michigan State.

Ohio State, USC, and Michigan State must be frustrated that they lost out on Harmon and that he is heading to one of the best schools in the conference. It’s bad enough to lose the player, but it’s even worse that you must go up against him.
