Jade Cargill has opened up on advice she was given by CM Punk, the abandoned AEW storyline with Bow Wow, and more during a recent interview.

The 30-year-old appeared on a Bootleg Kev episode released Tuesday. During the show, she spoke highly of CM Punk and the guidance he gave her during his time in AEW and when the two spent time together at a Comic-Con. She was asked what she has learned from Punk and responded:

Just stand on what you believe and don't be a pushover. And I admired that because coming into this business and being new, it's like you have to almost shrink yourself a little bit.

I know who I am. Again, I've lived several lives. I've lived real life and just because I didn't want to do this all my life or because I didn't put in the time, I refuse to let anybody look at me less than and I refuse for anybody to treat me any different because outside of these lines, I'm a human freaking being and you're not going to treat me like anything else.

I'm Jade Cargill and outside these lines, I'm Jade Cargill so I'm not going to let you address me anything less. So, the fact that he told me to stand on what I believe and don't be a pushover, that stuck with me. He's a great guy.

Cargill was then asked about the events that took place backstage after All Out between The Elite and Punk. She said:

I wasn't there, I had already left the stadium. I had already left, right after my match I left. I was like, alright, I'm out guys and so I heard about it just like the rest of the world at the same time. It was pretty shocking.

For my opinion, Punk's a great guy. He's been nothing but nice to the women's locker room. He talks to me, tells me his experience again at Comic-Con. We got really close because he was my tag mate in the interviews and I learned so much from him and so much knowledge in the industry. Again, he's been in two different companies and he can do whatever the hell he wants to do. He doesn't need it, he does it because he loves it and that to me speaks to me because I don't need it, I do it because I love it and I appreciate people like that.

Cargill was also asked about the storyline with her and Bow Wow from November. She confronted Bow Wow at a Meet and Greet and it looked as though the two would be involved in some type of angle but the storyline never ended up moving forward. Cargill said:

I don't know what happened with it. Something was supposed to happen, it didn't happen and we moved on from the situation.

Cargill also spent some time talking about improving her in-ring work by training with Bryan Danielson on Wednesdays before shows.

Our coaches and our agents, they appreciate the fact that I come in daily and grind. I hit up Bryan [Danielson] every week like, 'Hey, can we train on Wednesday? Can we train on Wednesday? Because I want to get better. I didn't enter this sport to be good. I don't want to transition to the next thing until I'm great at this. People can talk all the crap they want, everybody knows I'm going to be great at this and I say that with so much confidence because I am and I put in the work to say that.

Later in the interview, Cargill would comment further on training with Danielson.

He trains me on Wednesdays. Tony Khan is the one who set that up. He's great, he's really, really great.

The first thing he always asks me when I come back is, like I'll say 'Oh man, I messed this up' or whatever I have to say, he's like, 'Jade, but did you enjoy yourself?' So, now I'm living in the moment. Before it's like four different layers to wrestling, you have to listen to this person, this person but now I'm like feeling the crowd and I'm just listening to their reaction.

Billy Gunn has been the agent for many of Cargill's matches of late. She also spent some time talking about what she has learned from him.

Right now, he's my agent so all my matches that you've seen, probably my last 10 matches he's been my agent for. A great guy, like understands what I need and understands that I don't need to do much and that's what I appreciate from him.

He understands what it is to put asses in seats and he understands what you need to do to get over and not doing too much. He's very much a minimalistic guy when you see him out there.

Cargill continued to say that she wants to be known as "The Female Rock."

One thing I want to be is the female Rock. That might sound wild but I want to do that because when I say that people act like it's the end of the world and I don't understand why would you shoot down somebody's dreams if that's what they want to be.

I can do movies, I'm not worried about any of that. I know it's coming regardless of what anybody says but I mean, I have total respect for that man.

Cargill was asked about other female wrestlers in the industry that she has respect for. She responded:

I think Charlotte Flair is great. I think she's a very sound wrestler. She can do all the flippy s**t that you want to do, she can go out there and have a hardcore match. I think she's a total package that we have as far as an exampe for a woman wrestler today.
