Barack Obama receives Grammy nomination for 'A Promised Land'

Barack Obama already solidified his legacy as the 44th President of the United States, but he's padding it with another Grammy nomination.

The full nomination field for the 64th Grammy Awards was revealed Tuesday morning, and Obama's A Promised Land is nominated for best spoken word album (includes poetry, audio books and storytelling) alongside LeVar Burton (Aftermath), Don Cheadle (Carry On: Reflections For A New Generation From John Lewis), J. Ivy (Catching Dreams: Live At Fort Knox Chicago) and Dave Chappelle and Amir Sulaiman (8:46).

A Promised Land arrived last November.

"In the stirring, highly anticipated first volume of his presidential memoirs, Barack Obama tells the story of his improbable odyssey from young man searching for his identity to leader of the free world, describing in strikingly personal detail both his political education and the landmark moments of the first term of his historic presidency—a time of dramatic transformation and turmoil," the book's official website explains, in part.

Around the release last year, Obama also described his goals for the book, the process of writing it as well as recording the now-Grammy-nominated audiobook:

Obama is a two-time Grammy winner in this category for Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts On Reclaiming The American Dream.

The 64th Grammy Awards are scheduled to air live from Los Angeles' Staples Center (to be known as Crypto.com Arena as of Christmas Day) on Jan. 31, 2022, beginning at 8 p.m. EST.
