Camila Cabello hilariously shuts down rumors she's engaged to Shawn Mendes

Camila Cabello was just going about her day, posting this TikTok of her dancing to her single "Don't Go Yet" as her daily workout routine, when fans noticed a ring on her the finger traditionally reserved for engagement or wedding rings.

Obviously, that sparked rumors that Cabello is engaged to Shawn Mendes.

"No, guys," the chart-topping singer said while virtually visiting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (Aug. 26). "I am not engaged. I swear to God, I don't know what hand the engagement ring goes on, so sometimes I'll just put [rings] on my ring finger, and I mean, I'd actually like you to enlighten me. Which hand is the engagement hand? Because I don't know.

"My parents are married, and they both lost their rings," Cabello, 24, continued. "And so, literally, my mom couldn't tell me either. Like, she could save me from this, but she doesn't because she doesn't know either."

Fallon relayed that it's the ring finger on the left hand, but he was also struggling to remember because he stopped wearing his own band after he "almost ripped my finger off with my wedding ring" in June 2015:

Fallon joked that instead he has a tattoo on his lower back to symbolize his love that says "Taken."

"I have a tattoo of Shawn on my lower back, too," Cabello quipped. "It says, 'Shawn Mendes.' It says, 'Señor,' and he has one on his lower back that says, 'Señorita.'"

Cabello and Fallon then pivoted to Cinderella, the live-action musical take on the classic Disney tale by Kay Cannon set to hit Amazon Prime Video next Friday (Sept. 3).

The film marks Cabello's official feature acting debut. The former Fifth Harmony member stars as the titular character, who goes by Ella and has dreams of earning independence and fulfillment through making dresses.

"It's just incredible," Cabello said. "I was in this new badass version of this classic fairytale, but it's told in a totally different way, and Cinderella's just a badass in this one. She's not waiting for a prince to save her. She's saving herself!"

The Cinderella cast also features Billy Porter, Idina Menzel, Nicholas Galitzine, Pierce Brosnan and Minnie Driver.
