Jennifer Aniston on 'nasty' assumption she chose career over kids: 'You have no clue what’s going with me personally, medically'

Jennifer Aniston has felt like everybody’s friend since she was Rachel Green for 10 years on Friends, which involves complete strangers incorrectly assuming they have access to her personal life.

The Emmy-winning actress opened up about the challenges of fame, both in the ages of tabloids and social media, as the latest cover star of The Hollywood Reporter.

“Well, people certainly project onto you and all that, but my job is to go, ‘Listen, I’ll show you what I’m capable of, and you decide if you want to subscribe,’” Aniston, 52, said about her personal and professional lives bleeding together. “So, you disappear as much as you can, you have fun, you take on these weird roles, you don’t give a s—t, you enjoy yourself, you remember that you have a gorgeous group of friends and your life is blessed and you do the best that you can.”

“I used to take it all very personally — the pregnancy rumors and the whole ‘Oh, she chose career over kids’ assumption,” the pop culture staple continued. “It’s like, ‘You have no clue what’s going with me personally, medically, why I can’t … can I have kids?’ They don’t know anything, and it was really hurtful and just nasty.”

More recently for Aniston, though, it has been the confusing backlash to her stance on getting vaccinated against COVID-19. Elsewhere in the THR interview, the current The Morning Show star shared that she has been called “a liberal Vaxx-hole” and “bullied for wanting people not to be sick.”
