Joshua Jackson will star in 'Fatal Attraction' series at Paramount Plus

Joshua Jackson has come a long way from The Mighty Ducks and Dawson's Creek.

Deadline's Nellie Andreeva exclusively reported Thursday (Jan. 20) that the 43-year-old actor will star opposite Lizzy Caplan in the forthcoming Fatal Attraction series coming to Paramount Plus that "explores the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes towards strong women, personality disorders and coercive control."

It was revealed in November 2021 that Caplan was set to co-lead the series as Alex, originally played by Glenn Close in 1987's Fatal Attraction. Jackson will play Dan Gallagher, originally played by Michael Douglas, who becomes the object of Alex's obsession after a brief affair.

The Paramount Plus series is billed as "a deep-dive reimagining" of the iconic film, which earned six Oscar nominations—including best actress for Close.

"Joshua is an incredible talent who creates beautifully complicated characters on both the screen and stage," Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount Plus Original Scripted Series told Deadline. "He and Lizzy are perfectly matched to tell a nuanced and modern narrative about the complexities of the human psyche. We’re thrilled to partner with them to bring this provocative and captivating story to a new generation."

In recent years, Jackson has starred in acclaimed series such as The Affair (2014-19), When They See Us (2019), Little Fires Everywhere (2020) and Dr. Death (2021).
