Miley Cyrus turned 29 years old today (Nov. 23), but she didn't get to celebrate with a Grammy nomination.
The Recording Academy unveiled the nominees for the 64th Grammy Awards on Tuesday morning, and Cyrus was noticeably absent from the field. The former Hannah Montana star addressed the snub by tweeting "in good company" alongside a link to an article listing 30 artists who haven't won a Grammy:
In good company. https://t.co/ASoUeuTIJ9

And she's right. It is quite a list of all-time snubs that includes musical legends such as Queen, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Tupac Shakur, Patti Smith, Diana Ross and Bob Marley as well as Cyrus' star contemporaries such as Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj.
It was expected that Cyrus would be nominated for her November 2020 album Plastic Hearts, her seventh solo studio LP. Several people took exception to the confusing exclusion:
Miley Cyrus continues to be the most criminally underrated rock star of her generation.

With Plastic Hearts, Cyrus dove headfirst into reviving punk and rock. The album boasted songs featuring Billy Idol, Joan Jett and Stevie Nicks. She has been nominated for a Grammy only once in her career, when Bangerz was up for best pop vocal album at 2015's 57th Grammy Awards.
