Nick Cannon shares new tattoo honoring late infant son Zen 'as my angel'

It has been a nightmarish week for Nick Cannon, but the 41-year-old multi-hyphenate entertainer is doing his best to keep his spirits up.

On Tuesday's episode of his daytime talk show, Cannon announced that his five-month-old son, Zen, died last weekend after a short battle with brain cancer.

And on Friday's episode, Cannon used his "Pic of the Day" segment to share a tattoo of Zen he got on his rib cage.

"Last night, I got the opportunity to go get a tattoo of my son, Zen, as an angel on my rib," Cannon explained. "I'm still all bandaged up, and it hurts right here right now!

"It was a lot of pain, but it was so well worth it," he added. "I enjoyed every moment of the experience. To forever have my son right here as my rib, right here at my side. That's my angel."

Cannon shared Zen with Alyssa Scott, who also posted a heartbreaking Instagram tribute to the baby boy:

Zen, born June 23, was the youngest of Cannon's seven children

The Emmy-nominated host shares 10-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, with Mariah Carey, whom he was married to from 2008 until their divorce was finalized in 2016. Cannon then welcomed son Golden in February 2017 as well as daughter Powerful last December with ex-girlfriend Brittany Bell. On June 14, he again had twins, Zion and Zillion, with Abby De La Rosa.
