Tom Holland shares sweet 25th birthday tribute for Zendaya: 'My MJ'

Tom Holland and Zendaya appear to have just gone Instagram official.

"My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays," Holland, 25, captioned a mirror selfie with Zendaya, presumably from the set of Spider-Man: No Way Home, for her 25th birthday Wednesday (Sept. 1). "Gimme a call when your [sic] up xxx"

"Calling now," Zendaya commented with a heart emoji.

As of now, the post has racked up 13 million likes (and counting) in just seven hours.

That's on par with the record-breaking No Way Home teaser trailer released Aug. 23.

"Despite leaking online a day early, the teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has set a new all-time record for the most global views in the first 24 hours, with 355.5 million views," Variety relayed Aug. 25. "That far surpasses the previous record held by the trailer for Avengers: Endgame, which picked up 289 million views when it debuted in December 2018. According to Sony Pictures, the No Way Home trailer also earned the most-ever mentions on social media of any movie preview over the first 24 hours, with 4.5 million mentions worldwide."

Holland and Zendaya have been Spider-Man co-stars since 2017's Homecoming—Holland as the iconic titular superhero and Zendaya as Michelle Jones, affectionally known as MJ, his love interest (art imitating life, life imitating art).

The end of 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home featured MJ and Spidey finally admitting their feelings for each other and going on a date to swing around New York City. The mid-credits scene then showed Mysterio/Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal) revealing Spider-Man's true identity to be Peter Parker, which set up the premise for No Way Home:

Off-screen, fans have been stanning Holland and Zendaya even back in 2016 and '17 when they were adamantly denying being anything more than friends. However, beginning earlier this summer, romance rumors have been heating up—culminating in Holland's sweet and very public birthday gesture.

For Zendaya's part, the Emmy-winning actress—and the youngest-ever best actress in a drama series Emmy winner at that—posted to her Instagram Story that she was ringing in her birthday on the set of Euphoria.
