Trevor Noah pokes fun at the NFL cameras loving Taylor Swift during 2024 Grammy Awards

The 2024 Grammy Awards are taking place on Sunday night, with dozens of artists vying for recognition at the highest level of their profession. Including Taylor Swift, who has become a crossover of sorts into the sports world in recent months.

Swift couldn’t escape those NFL ties on Sunday night, with her dating of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce a popular topic of conversation.

Grammys emcee Trevor Noah found room in his opening monologue to reference Swift’s growing appeal, which has not been entirely without detractors in NFL fandom circles. Noah riffed on that a bit on Sunday night.

“By the way, can I just say something before we move on?” Noah said. “I think it is so unfair how NFL fans have been complaining about the cameras cutting to Taylor Swift, like she’s controlling the cameras at the games. Right? Just let her live. Let her live.”

As cameras panned to Swift, Noah continued with his bit.

“In fact, tonight, on Taylor’s behalf, you know what I’m going to do?” Noah said. “I’m going to give her a break. Every time they mention Taylor Swift I’m going to get revenge. Every time someone says Taylor Swift, I’m going to cut the cameras to someone who played football.

“CUT. Bam, just like that.”

Cameras then panned over to star Terry Crews, who played for five different NFL teams during the 1990s.

“Oh yeah, you like that, Terry Crews?” Noah said. “You like that Terry Crews? You better fix your face, Terry. Yeah, we’re watching you all night, Terry. No relaxing for you. Do you work for the CIA, Terry? Huh? Huh? I can read lips, Terry, you better watch what you say.”
