Jackson and Powell are not afraid to talk trash.
Before the McDonald’s All-American game, Complex Sports sat down with UNC signees Ian Jackson and Drake Powell, as well as Duke signees Isaiah Evans and Cooper Flagg. They were given prompts and questions, leading to trash talk between the future rivals.
The interviewers asked what would happen in next year’s edition of rivalry and whether there would be a split or a sweep. Powell alluded to a sweep for the Tar Heels. Flagg said, “It can’t happen, like, we were in the crowd. Like, we’ve seen it happen. It’s not happening again. That prompted Jackson to say, “Y’all watched Cormac get off on y’all. They put the camera on y’all too, I seen y’all face.”
On top of talking about sweeping the Blue Devils, Jackson also said that Duke fans aren’t that loud, they just play in a small gym.
All four recruits in the video are 5-stars. Duke is bringing in two other 5-star commits and two 4-stars. Meanwhile, the Tar Heels bring in 4-star commit in James Brown. UNC should be the more experienced team, as has been the case for nearly a decade. It is sure to be a fun season for two talented programs.
