The NHL All-Star weekend kicked off its festivities on Thursday, and to say it was a busy day would be an understatement.

Several events, two red (and yellow) carpets, and a whole bunch of other festivities. I took some photos on Day One of the NHL All-Star weekend in Toronto. They're below!

Maple Leafs on the red carpet

Mitch Marner and William Nylander were the first pair of Maple Leafs to walk the red carpet before heading over to Scotiabank Arena for the NHL All-Star draft.

On Thursday afternoon, I asked both players how their outfits came together.

"Well, my outfit, this came in as I was getting into the Uber on the way to come here," Nylander said. "So, it was pretty chaotic but I mean, nothing really planned, I just got a new suit."

Marner, at least, was a little bit more prepared.

"I noticed last year that it was more of a casual fit kind of thing and kind of wear what you want. So for this year, I tried to change things up a little bit. I met a stylist in Greece last year and, I'll shout him out, Joey Saturday, Mr. Saturday, that's what this coat is.

"He messaged me a couple days ago and just said, 'We got some stuff if you want to try some stuff on and see if you like it and wear for the All-Star game and just the weekend.' I said, 'Yeah, I'll take a look at it for sure.'"

Maple Leafs and celebrity captains doing media

It's safe to say Michael Buble and Will Arnett loved being a part of the NHL All-Star Draft on Thursday evening. The two stepped up to the podium to field questions from reporters and had a ton of fun doing it.

Buble answered a question about fantasy hockey, and it somehow led to the Canadian singer discussing how his friend gave him a "microdose" of mushrooms.

"My buddy told me this is just a microdose of mushrooms, and he was lying," Buble said. "I'll be honest, I thought I was in Blades of Glory for most of the time that I was out [on the ice] until it sort of settled down and then I realized, 'Holy s**t, I'm at the NHL All-Star game.'"

Maple Leafs x drewhouse party at History in Toronto

Later in the evening, following the NHL All-Star festivities for the day, the Maple Leafs and drewhouse, along with Rogers, hosted a private party at History in Toronto.

Several celebrities walked the yellow carpet, including a few Maple Leafs (Marner, Nylander, Auston Matthews, and even Joseph Woll), Adam Copeland (also known as Edge while with WWE), Canadian producer Murda Beatz, Tessa Virtue, and several PWHL players.

Justin Bieber's surprise performance at Maple Leafs x drewhouse party

Around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, the lights went dark in History, and before you knew it, Justin Bieber had stepped out onto the stage to start singing.

This was the Canadian singer's first public show in over a year after cancelling his world tour back in September 2022.
