Glove story: Marlins' Jazz Chisholm Jr. honors Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr.

Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Miami Marlins while chasing down a fly ball.

Although we won't see Acuna return to the field this season, his trademark yellow batting gloves have lived to see another day as Marlins second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. sported his own pair of bright yellow gloves during Sunday's game as a tribute to the injured slugger.

Chisholm likely chose to wear his own pair of Acuna's signature yellow gloves because the Braves outfielder was injured while chasing down his fly ball during Saturday's game.

It was a nice gesture from Chisholm, especially when considering the bad blood between Acuna and the Marlins in recent years.

Marlins pitchers have hit Acuna seven times since his 2018 rookie campaign. The Braves outfielder was even hit during Friday's contest against Miami and had to be restrained by Marlins catcher Jorge Alfaro and umpire Jordan Baker.

While speaking with reporters Sunday, Acuna vowed to return next season better than ever, saying, "If I was giving 500 percent before, I'm about to start giving 1,000 percent."
