MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred admits to be DISAPPOINTED if Athletics’ Vegas ballpark does not open by 2028

The 65-year-old MLB official has been under the wrath of fans along with team owner John Fisher for their plans to relocate the Athletics. Despite the criticism, Manfred has claimed he was sad to see the city of Oakland lose another sports franchise and claimed that they tried their best to keep the team there.

Now the Commissioner has said that this was the best decision for the Athletics and the sport of baseball.

Rob Manfred unsure of where Athletics will relocate to on temporary basis

During the Owners’ Meeting this week, Rob Manfred informed the MLB world that he was unsure where the Oakland Athletics will be relocating to on temporary basis. The A’s lease with the Coliseum stadium will expire after this season, leading to the team looking for a new home.

Manfred though did admit that the team is doing a good job of exploring their options. He later hinted that the team might be going to the West.

We need to, in the next few months, know. It's hard, even scheduling; although it's clearly going to be someplace in the West, there's a difference between some places in the West and other places Rob Manfred where Oakland Athletics could be relocating to as per MLB.com.

Other major topic discussed in this meeting was the sale of the Baltimore Orioles. Long-time owners, The Angelos family have decided to sell the team for a staggering $1.7 million deal.

On this matter, Manfred claimed he would like to get the deal done soon. This move will though require a minimum of 75 per cent approval from all other owners. It will be interesting to see what affects will take place on the O’s once the deal which includes club legend Cal Ripken. Jr as minority owner gets approved.
