It's been a long wait for baseball fans to see their teams take the diamond. Unfortunately for some of those fans, the wait will have to continue just a bit longer as two Opening Day games have been postponed.
The New York Yankees announced Wednesday that their season-opening game against the rival Boston Red Sox has been postponed due to inclement weather. The hope is the opener will only be pushed back to Friday and that rain pelting the Bronx will give way to more baseball-abiding weather.
Thursday’s Yankees-Red Sox Opening Day game has been rescheduled due to the forecast of inclement weather. The game will now be played on Friday, April 8, at 1:05pm at Yankee Stadium.

In the midwest, the Minnesota Twins home opener against the Seattle Mariners was also postponed to Friday due to rain.

As CBS Sports points out, nasty weather on the East Coast could threaten the Washington Nationals opener against the New York Mets, although nothing has been officially announced yet. Surely the Nats would be disappointed if Thursday's game is postponed after they annihilated the Mets in their spring training finale earlier this week.
