Reds first-round pick from Wake Forest Rhett Lowder was one of the top prospects at big league camp. The 22-year-old recently chatted with Jim Callis on MLB Network ahead of his start against the Rangers.
“It was a lot of fun," Lowder said. "I haven’t pitched in a professional league game yet outside of those big league games so I kind of just liked meeting all the guys and taking what I can."
He's learning as much as he can from some of the top pitchers on the team.
“We just signed Frankie Montas and we were on the Reds caravan together so I got to talk to him quite a bit there I think that was a good guy to talk to," Lowder said. "It’s always good to talk to Hunter (Greene) and Andrew Abbott… I played against him at Wake (Forest). You know just those guys young and some of the veterans.”
Lowder will pitch for the Reds today against the Rangers. Watch the interview below:
