Watch: Seattle Mariners' Dylan Moore Shares Emotional Moment with Mariners Fan

Seattle Mariners utility player Dylan Moore currently isn't playing on the field, but he is creating memories.

This weekend at T-Mobile Park, Moore shared a special moment with a Mariners season ticket holder named Donna, who was recently diagnosed with MS. She said Moore is her favorite player. You can see the full video below but Donna said:

"So I got to meet my favorite player Dylan Moore. He came out and I started crying right away when I saw him. I was really surprised, definitely. I've always wanted to meet him. When I got diagnosed with MS on February 14th, it's been a rollercoaster since then. About MS, if you're going through it, you're not alone and I'll get through it."

Kudos to the Mariners and to Moore, because baseball is about creating memories for a lifetime and connecting with the fans, in addition to winning games.

Moore is currently out with an oblique injury and recently complained of core discomfort, which we chronicled here.

Moore is a key piece for the Mariners, who have slumped to a 10-12 start through the first 22 games of the season. He has the versatility to play each position on the field (except catcher) and was being counted on to provide a right-left platoon with Kolten Wong at second base. Wong has limped to an .140 batting average in the early going so Moore's anticipated return was looming large.

He is a career .225 hitter against LHPs. That may not seem like much, but he's a career .198 hitter against righties, so that is a significant difference.

The 30-year-old signed a three-year contract worth $8.875 million this offseason.

The injury to Moore isn't the only one that the Mariners are dealing with this season. They've lost 2020 gold glover Evan White for multiple months with a hamstring issue. Starting pitcher and 2021 Cy Young winner Robbie Ray is out with a flexor issue and top reliever Andres Munoz is out with a deltoid issue, although he is slated to come back soon.

The Mariners will open up a series with the Phillies on Tuesday night at 6:40 p.m. ET.
