Media Accused Of Making Dana White Look Like A 'Scumbag' Because Of Donald Trump Support: 'A Lot Of Our MMA Media Has Different Political Views Than Him!'

As the president of the UFC, Dana White is always going to be the subject of headlines for both positive and negative reasons.

The long-time serving head honcho at the MMA leader has had a huge impact on the trajectory of the sport.

That being said, he isn't immune to receiving criticism from fighters, fans and the media which is only natural when you're in the position he is in.

There are times when criticism might come his way from certain areas that aren't strictly tied to his work within the sport.

White has let it be no secret what he thinks of former US President Donald Trump with a clear vote of support for number 45, which will have impacted some people's opinions on him.

Josh Thomson Blames Difference In Political Views For The Media's Criticism Of Dana White

Former UFC fighter Josh Thomson believes that White's open political views have swayed how he is portrayed in the media.

During the latest episode of the Weighing In podcast, Thomson spoke about how White is often positioned in a negative light.

He specifically referenced the class action lawsuit that is being held against the UFC which undoubtedly shows White and several other people in positions of power within the promotion in a bad way.

Thomson believes that a difference in political views is why the media are always so quick to label White and post about him, especially in the build-up to an election.

"I don't know if it's because of the Dana White support for Trump, the Dana White support for conservative values, I'm just let's be honest, let's just throw it all out there. I really believe that a lot of our MMA media has different political views than him and so they find any possible way they can to attack from for any type of thing especially now coming up in 2024 in the election season. Let's go ahead and point out every little f****** thing you guys can to try and point and basically degrade him or to basically make him feel like he's a scumbag. 'Oh the class action lawsuit, oh this and that'."
