Watch: Reggie Jackson's footwork drops LeBron James

Reggie Jackson's fake sent LeBron James to the floor early in the Denver Nuggets' season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers.

After the backup guard caught a pass from Jamal Murray in the corner, he lunged with one foot, sending James tumbling to the floor, while he calmly canned a three-pointer.

On replay, it was clear that Jackson's footwork did more than just dupe James with a jab step. He landed his right foot on top of King James' foot, which did most of the work in making him fall. Jackson was closer to literally breaking LeBron's ankles than "breaking his ankles" in the colloquial sense.

To add injury to insult, James got his nose bloodied by a Christian Braun elbow on the other end of the floor.

It's no surprise that Jackson delivered, as he seems to play his best against the Lakers. He's scored in double figures in seven of his last eight regular-season games against the purple and gold, with a 36-point near-triple-double in March 2022.

Jackson had eight points in 13 first-half minutes as Denver maintained a double-digit lead.
