A.J. Brown calls out Eagles QB legend after receiving criticism

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) Tuesday, calling out Donovan McNabb after the franchise quarterback legend criticized him in an interview Monday.

Brown and current Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts were involved in a heated discussion during the fourth quarter of the team's "Thursday Night Football" win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2. The incident happened while Philadelphia was ahead 27-14 and left viewers speculating that the two-time Pro Bowl pass catcher was complaining about his lack of involvement and/or targets in the contest.

Notably, Brown did get multiple end zone looks following the sideline exchange, with one would-be touchdown was called back by a holding penalty and the other falling incomplete. The former Tennessee Titan ended the Week 2 victory with only four catches for 29 yards, with fellow star wideout DeVonta Smith posting four receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown.

Coincidentally, Brown has put up monster numbers since Week 3, registering 31 catches for 564 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 44 targets. With his seven-reception, 131-yard day against the New York Jets in Week 6, Brown became the first player in franchise history to have four consecutive games over 125 receiving yards.

For what it's worth, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni has said multiple times that he wasn't worried about the potential argument between Brown and Hurts. No. 11 has echoed similar sentiments to those conveyed in Tuesday's social media post during recent weeks.

McNabb spent the first 11 seasons of his 13-year NFL career with Philadelphia, including 2004-05 with Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens. T.O. was one of the faces of a large group of wide receiver divas during the 1990s and 2000s and had numerous spats with McNabb.
