Broncos' Browning aims to mirror ex-Denver star Von Miller's success

On Saturday night, the Broncos will face the Buffalo Bills and former Denver star Von Miller, who won a Super Bowl ring last season with the Rams. Denver hopes it has the next Miller in second-year outside linebacker Baron Browning. He was moved from inside to outside linebacker to put more pressure on quarterbacks.

Browning has not shied away from the Miller comparisons. The former Ohio State Buckeye even attended Miller's pass rush summit earlier this summer.

"I kind of wanted to make the move, and (the Broncos) felt the same way," Browning told USA Today. "... I'm making the most of it and working on just perfecting my craft."

Browning's extra work at the position in the offseason is starting to pay off. He had an impressive debut against the Cowboys in preseason, recording four tackles, a sack and a pass deflection. His effort to dismantle backfields impressed first-year head coach Nathaniel Hackett.

“He really had some great moves, some great counter moves," Hackett recently told USA Today, "He was around the quarterback the whole day, so you can see he’s really owning that and really becoming a lot better.”

Miller, an eight-time Pro Bowler, signed with the Bills in the offseason. Buffalo starters, including Miller, will play “a healthy amount” on Saturday, Bills coach Sean McDermott said at a news conference earlier this week.
