Cleveland Browns’ Deshaun Watson keeps it real with Kevin Stefanski to his face
Scott Galvin-USA TODAY Sports

Cleveland Browns are in a different era than fans are used to because the team went through so many years of losing. Now, things have been trending upward with the Browns winning more.

General manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski have a ton to do with the shift in culture. Recently, Deshaun Watson opened a restaurant called Lefty’s in Cleveland and he was joined by Stefanski.

The two appeared on an episode of QB Unplugged and Watson kept it real with Stefanski.

“I’m going to give you your flowers coach,” Watson stated. “The things that you do for the organization and this community, but for the locker room the guys talk about it every day, talk about it all the time. That is a big testimony to what you and AB is doing for this organization and this community.”

Since arriving in Cleveland in 2020, Stefanski is 37-30 and that same record holds for Berry’s time in Northeast Ohio. You have to go back to 2011 for the Browns to have won 37 games prior to Stefanski.

“We go out there every Sunday or whenever we’re playing and we give you 110 percent,” Watson explained. “You treat us like men and give us our flowers when you need to but also you push us hard enough to out there on the practice and compete.”

The two-time NFL Coach of the Year is on the brink of receiving a contract extension and he should be in Cleveland for the long haul. With how things have gone over the last few years, that is a big win.
