Report: Trump failed in surprising attempt to purchase Bills
Former President Donald Trump GREG LOVETT/THE PALM BEACH POST / USA TODAY NETWORK

The former president of the United States Donald Trump reportedly tried to purchase the Buffalo Bills back in 2014. He and the Trump Organization bid $1 billion to purchase the team.

Donald Trump’s Failed Attempt

The problem was that the former president needed a bank to help finance the acquisition. According to ABC News and former Deutsche Bank executive Nicholas Haigh, “Deutsche Bank was not willing to increase its credit exposure to Donald Trump at that time.”

Even though the bank denied Trump, it still sent a “letter of support” for his bid on the Bills. He was ultimately denied purchasing the NFL team due to not having a bank to help him out.

The NFL world quickly took to Twitter after this news was revealed, and many fans even thanked the bank for preventing Trump from being involved in the National Football League.
