Terry Bradshaw reveals 'problem' Tom Brady will have with Fox

Hall of Famer and Fox employee Terry Bradshaw sounds unconvinced Tom Brady will love his upcoming broadcasting career right out of the gates.

"The problem with Tom is the whole world is gonna watch," Bradshaw said during a Super Bowl LVII media event, per Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post. "Everyone wants to see how he does. And if he doesn’t meet the expectations of you guys, you’re gonna say it. So I don’t think criticism is something that has come his way in his 20-plus years in the NFL. I know a lot of these superstar quarterbacks get criticized to a degree. They don’t take kindly to it."

Bradshaw knows from experience. He earned four Super Bowl rings serving as quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers and has worked as both an in-game broadcaster and a studio analyst following the end of his playing career.

Recently, CBS lead NFL analyst and former Dallas Cowboys signal-caller Tony Romo seemingly responded to those who have criticized his calls of games and suggested he didn't complete enough prep work ahead of contests. Bradshaw said he believes Brady "will put the work in" but also added that may not be enough for the seven-time Super Bowl champion to immediately earn the job he signed up for last year.

Brady is enjoying a "gap year" before he joins Fox presumably to replace Greg Olsen as the network's No. 1 NFL analyst in 2024 via a 10-year deal reportedly worth $375 million.

"We all love [Brady]," Bradshaw insisted during his comments. "We’re pulling for him. I feel sorry for Greg Olsen who’s had a phenomenal year. So maybe they may start Tom out in second team."

Fox isn't paying Brady the big bucks to work second-tier games but also may wish to hold onto Olsen after next season. It's been reported that Olsen can leave Fox if his seat is occupied by Brady and if the former tight end finds a No. 1 job with a different company.
