Tom Brady and family evacuate ahead of Hurricane Ian amid alleged drama

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and wife Gisele Bündchen have been in headlines since late in the summer due to their alleged marital issues stemming from his decision to end his short-lived retirement from playing to return to the Buccaneers for at least the 2022 NFL season.

The couple is now in the news for a much different reason.

Nika Shakhnazarova of the New York Post mentioned Wednesday morning that the Brady family, including the quarterback's son whom he shares with actress Bridget Moynahan, has evacuated Tampa and traveled to Miami amid the threat of Hurricane Ian. Brady was already set to be in Miami because the Buccaneers are using the Miami Dolphins' facility for midweek practices due to concerns related to the storm.

Brady insisted during Monday's edition of his "Let's Go!" SiriusXM show and podcast that the altered schedule offered no excuses for the 2-1 Buccaneers heading into a "Sunday Night Football" game against the 2-1 Kansas City Chiefs scheduled to occur at Tampa Bay's Raymond James Stadium, but the 45-year-old also admitted he's never experienced anything quite like this during his career.

"I don't think that anyone's really prepared for this," Brady remarked, per Kevin Patra of the NFL's website. "I know I've been preparing all morning and get all my stuff outside, try to put it inside, try to get all the stuff on the ground level up a little bit higher. I'm right here on the bay so they're talking about pretty high storm surges and it's a scary thing. I will say that it's a scary thing when it really hits your doorstep."

It was reported Tuesday that the NFL could make a decision about either relocating the Chiefs-Buccaneers matchup to a different city or shifting it to Monday night as late as Friday. Minneapolis and New Orleans have been mentioned as potential alternate sites for the game.

Multiple stories have claimed Bündchen is unhappy the seven-time Super Bowl champion didn't commit to retirement this past winter, and Giovana Gelhoren of People reports the Brazilian supermodel did not attend Tampa Bay's 14-12 home loss to the Green Bay Packers this past Sunday.

"Gisele continues to be dedicated to her kids and is working on personal projects," a source said.

Per ESPN stats, Brady will head into Week 4 of the campaign 14th among eligible quarterbacks with an 89.2 passer rating and 17th with a 47.5 total QBR. He's 22nd with 673 passing yards and has tossed just three touchdown passes over the season's first three games.
