Which famous celebrities root for 49ers or Chiefs?

There is a real comedy clique from Kansas City, and that includes Rudd. Born in New Jersey, the ageless actor moved around in his childhood, but spent a lot of it in Kansas City, and he went to college at the University of Kansas. Clearly, it struck a chord with him, because Rudd is a diehard Chiefs fan, and he makes no bones about it.

Stonestreet clearly loves sports. The “Modern Family” star can often be seen repping his teams, or on the sidelines. In addition to his love for Kansas State’s sports teams, he’s a big Chiefs fan as well.

You aren’t mistaken if you think Superman is English. He did indeed grow up across the pond watching a different kind of football, but he also gained an affinity for the American version as well. For whatever reason, he settled on the Chiefs, despite the fact they hadn’t been in a Super Bowl since the 1969 season. Well, it’s paid off now.

The singer was born in Kansas, and she and her father were both fans of the Chiefs. While her father has died, she tweeted out in his honor after Kansas City made it to the Super Bowl. She also has performed before Chiefs games in the past.

The first thing people talk about when it comes to Riggle is usually the fact he was in the Marines when he started his comedy career. He’s also a Kansas boy, and he’s clearly a huge sports fan. Riggle has a celebrity softball game for charity in Kansas City every year, and he also took over for Frank Caliendo doing the comedy bits on FOX’s NFL pregame show. Needless to say, he loves the Chiefs.

This could be a great year for Pitt. In addition to being the favorite to win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, his beloved Kansas City Chiefs might also win a Super Bowl. With all due respect to all the other celebrity fans on this list, Pitt is the biggest name here, making him a big get for the Chiefs.

Koechner is Missouri guy (bear in mind Kansas City is actually in Missouri) and he came of age, and lived a good chunk of his adulthood, in a world where the St. Louis Rams didn’t exist. And who would have wanted to root for the St. Louis Cardinals, especially after they moved to Arizona. Like his “Anchorman” costar Paul Rudd, Koechner is a Chiefs fan.

Why did so many comedy guys end up growing up around Kansas City? We’ll never know what was in the water 40-50 years ago when all these guys were born, but they’ve given the Chiefs quite a few fans to parade the sidelines and get people’s attention. One can imagine Sudeikis watching Kansas City play games on Sunday afternoon after filming “Saturday Night Live” the evening prior.

Speaking of “Saturday Night Live,” Gardner has been a member of the cast of that show since 2017. She hasn’t left the show for greener pastures just yet like some of her other Kansas City locals, and Gardner actually grew up right in the city proper. She also pulled the rare double whammy of going to both the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri.

Tech N9ne has been rapping for over 20 years at this point, and even done some acting here and there. He makes no bones about his fandom for the Chiefs (and also the Royals). In fact, prior to the AFC Championship Game last year, Tech N9ne released a song called “Red Kingdom” where he name dropped several Chiefs players. They couldn’t beat the Patriots last year, but they took down the Titans this season.

Once upon a time, he wanted a new drug, but he doesn’t want a new football team. He’s a devoted follower of the San Francisco sports teams.

Renner loves the 49ers. While his social media output can be a little weird, that isn’t the case when he’s talking about his Niners. The “Avengers” star is devoted to his San Francisco franchise, and he’s surely happy to see them back in the Super Bowl looking for that sixth title.

When the Giants were playing in World Series, you could always see the rapper E-40 behind home plate. He loves San Francisco sports teams, clearly. While he can’t sit as close to a football game as he does when he’s checking out baseball, we expect E-40 to be at the Super Bowl down in Miami.

Samberg grew up in the Bay Area, but during his life the Raiders were bouncing back and forth between Los Angeles as Oakland. As such, while he and his Lonely Island crew made a bizarre musical ode to the Oakland A’s Bash Brothers Jose Canseco and Mark McGwire for Netflix, he’s evidently a 49ers fan. Hey, that’s the benefit of being a Bay Area sports fan. You have options.

There are a lot of “Saturday Night Live” alums on this list, which makes sense, given that dozens of famous people have been on that show. Carvey comes from a different era than a lot of the others, as he first hit big in the ‘80s. Carvey went to college in San Francisco, and then started his standup career in the city as well. At the same time, he evidently became a fan of the Niners. Then, in the ‘80s, that started to pay off as they became arguably the best team in football for that decade.

Brie is a bit of an athlete in her own right, given the stunt work she has to do in the pro wrestling show “GLOW.” If her character Ruth were a 49ers fan, she would be rooting for them at a great time to be pulling for Joe Montana and company. While Brie grew up in the LA area, this was during a time when the city had no football team. As such, she glommed onto the Niners, at least staying in state.

One more “Saturday Night Live” alum for the road. Like his buddy Adam Sandler, Schneider loves sports. He’s a huge fan of the San Francisco teams. You may not like his movies (sorry “Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo”) but you have to admire his dedication to his sports teams.

Miller has a sports connection, in as much as she has appeared on the cover of the “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit issue. In fact, her 2008 cover was apparently a record breaker. Also, apparently she’s quite a fan of surfing. That probably comes from growing up in the Bay Area, and she was living in San Francisco before she became a model.

It would have been interesting if the Patriots had made it to the Super Bowl, pitting the exes of Garner and Ben Affleck against each other in terms of fandom. We aren’t sure how Garner became a 49ers fan. She was born in Texas, after all. However, she’s definitely a legitimate fan. She’s appeared on the sidelines of 49ers games and has shouted out the team on the internet on occasion. After sitting through the Patriots dynasty, score one for the “Alias” actress.

Glover may be 73, but he’s still acting, in addition to being a political activist. He’s done a lot of work in the Bay Area, where he was born and raised. Before starting his movie career, Glover grew up in San Francisco and also went to college there. He’s a long-time 49ers fan, having lived through a lot of ups and down by this point.
