The Washington Capitals have recalled three players from the team’s AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, the Capitals announced Thursday.

Forwards Riley Sutter and Ethen Frank and defenseman Chase Priskie, each sent down as part of Sunday’s roster cuts, return to Washington.

Sutter, 23, was the Capitals’ third-round draft choice in 2018. He tallied 12 points — 5 goals, 7 assists — in 69 games in Hershey last season.

Frank, 25, led the Bears with 30 goals last season and ultimately finished third on the team in total points.

Priskie, 27, joined the Capitals on a two-way contract this offseason. A former Capitals draft pick in 2016, Priskie made his AHL debut in 2019 before playing four NHL games with the Florida Panthers during the 2021-22 season.

The Capitals play the fifth of six preseason games Thursday night, traveling to Columbus. The team — currently sitting at 38 players — will have to shrink to 23 ahead of Monday’s 5 p.m. roster deadline.
