The Calgary Flames raised eyes on Friday when they announced that their morning skate ahead of their home game against the Montreal Canadiens was canceled after a player tested positive for COVID-19.
Friday afternoon, Calgary added forward Josh Leivo to the COVID-19 protocol list but confirmed that the game against Montreal remains on, as scheduled. According to TSN's Salim Nadim Valji, Leivo skated with the Flames on Thursday.

Leivo has recorded five goals and two assists in 36 games this season.
Throughout the campaign, teams have been cleared to play following exposure to the coronavirus only to then be sidelined for multiple contests due to an actual or feared outbreak. Last month, the Canadiens had four games scrapped due to COVID-19 issues. Presuming Friday's matchup goes on, as hoped, Calgary and Montreal will play each other three times in four days.
Montreal is fourth in the NHL North standings with 49 points, eight points ahead of Calgary. The top four teams from each division qualify for the playoffs.
