The Domi name will once again grace the back of a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey. On Sunday, Max Domi, son of notorious Maple Leafs tough guy Tie Domi, agreed to a one-year deal with Toronto, joining an exclusive franchise list.
When Max finally takes the ice for Toronto, the pair will become the ninth father/son duo to play for the Maple Leafs in the franchise's 106-year history.

Tie & Max Domi
Mike & Nick Foligno
Bryan & Mason Marchment
Barry & John Cullen
Cal & Paul Gardner
Bill & Trevor Johansen
Babe & Tracy Pratt
Charlie & Pete Conacher
King & Terry Clancy
While the father's side of the list features several heavy hitters like Hall of Famers King Clancy, Charlie Conacher and Babe Pratt, John Cullen is the leading point-scorer among sons, with 77 as a Maple Leaf. With a strong season, Max could help him and his father climb high atop the father/son leader board.
Though, to overtake the leaders, Domi would likely need more than one season in Maple Leafs blue to do it. Conacher and his son Pete hold the distinction for the most points by a father/son duo in Toronto history, with 325, even though the former tallied all but one of them. That puts Tie and Max only 129 points behind.
Domi reportedly agreed to a deal worth $3 million for the 2023-24 season. The 12th overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft by the then-Phoenix Coyotes, Domi had his best campaign in years last season, splitting time with the Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars. Domi tallied 52 points (20 goals, 36 assists) in 80 games, his highest tally since posting 72 points (28 goals, 44 assists) in 2019-19.
Playing with the same grit as his father – with a bit more of a scoring touch – Domi should fit in nicely in Toronto, where he'll likely receive a hero's welcome.
