Alejandro Camano, the agent of Lautaro Martinez, provided an update on the contract negotiations with Inter, underlining his client’s happiness.

The 26-year-old proved himself to be one of the best strikers in Europe this season as he drove the Nerazzurri to the Scudetto, scoring 26 goals and providing six assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, forming a strong partnership with Marcus Thuram.

Lautaro has a little over two years left on his contract with Inter and the club are keen to tie him down to a new deal ahead of the summer transfer window, not wanting to lose their star striker anytime soon.

Lautaro update

Speaking to FcInter1908, Camano was asked about Lautaro’s position at Inter after their Scudetto success.

“Lautaro is very happy at Inter! This is the moment to enjoy the joy of being champion with the fans.

“He has secured a great achievement with his work and that of his teammates, but also of the technical staff and managers.”

He was coy when asked if now was the right time to accelerate contract talks.

“We are working on the future.”

Finally, Camano commented on if he’d have a new meeting with Inter  directors in Milan soon.

“Italy is my second home.”
