Arsenal are back in the 2023/24 Premier League title race after their win against Liverpool last weekend, but are already looking towards making changes for the future. According to John Cross of The Mirror, several key players could exit the club in the summer to make room for potential targets like Nico Williams and Ivan Toney.

The North Londoners have been looking for a proper backup to Bukayo Saka for a long time. Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams is one name that is on Arteta’s transfer wishlist among others like Pedro Neto. However, it would not be a cheap deal for the Gunners as the youngster only recently signed a contract extension with the Basque club.
In addition to this, other heavyweights like Real Madrid and Liverpool have also been linked with the 21-year-old who is considered to be one of Europe’s “most-wanted” young stars. Cross also states that Los Leones are not interested in selling their prized possession so easily.
The English journalist also adds that there could be an exodus of big-name players from Emirates Stadium in the summer. Eddie Nketiah, Thomas Partey, and Emile Smith Rowe are all names that have been rumoured to leave the club after the season. This could potentially save the Gunners a whopping £340k in weekly wages.
So far, it is fair to say most of the transfer decisions made by Arteta have been right. Fans of the club would be hoping that the trend continues and more top talent come to the club in the summer.
