In a bid to compete for a satisfactory Serie A finish next season, Cagliari are eager to shore their defense and have shortlisted free agent Yerry Mina. The Colombian is reportedly a top target for Cagliari, who will return to the top flight under the guidance of veteran Claudio Ranieri following a spectacular win over Bari in the play-offs.

As per Gianluca Di Marzio, the Sardinians have proposed an initial offer, which Mina is reportedly evaluating at the moment. The former Barcelona center-back recently parted ways with Premier League side Everton after five seasons and is currently awaiting a Bosman move.

Scudetto winners Napoli are also said to have made a move for Mina, but Cagliari wish to hijack the defender ahead of a decisive Serie A campaign. Brazilian outfit Botafogo and an unnamed Saudi Arabian club have also proposed deals to Mina.

If Mina accepts the move, he will join the likes of Jakub Jankto, Ibrahim Sulemana, Eldor Shomurodov, and Tommaso Augello at the Umipol Domus.
