Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could be forced into the market to sign a new defender.
The Reds are reeling after learning that Joel Matip has an ACL injury that rules him out for the season.
The experienced defender, who is now 32, may not even play for the club again.
Per The Mirror, Matip's replacement may be 23-year-old Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix.
The defender is one who the Reds have admired for many months, but may now be rushed into signing.
Lacroix would cost 25 million-plus, but the club would have to decide if he was worth the long term investment.
