Sevilla veteran Ivan Rakitic admits he's experiencing the worst moment of his career.
Defeat at Getafe saw coach Diego Alonso sacked yesterday.
In reaction, Rakitic said: "I'm sad. Sad for me, sad for all the dressing room, all of us who wear the Sevilla shield and I'm going to go ahead.
"I apologise to our people, to our fans, to those who support us at all times. I apologise but I promise more work than ever. It is the hardest, saddest and most complicated moment of my career, but I will not give up until I return Sevilla to where it belongs.
"I promise the involvement of everyone to turn around the situation. I want to thank Diego for all his work, for everything he has given us and I apologise that everything we have prepared has not come out. It's time to not talk too much and apologise again. It's easy to talk when you win things and we're celebrating. That's why I put myself ahead. I am the captain and the person most responsible for the squad.
"I promise the maximum demanded to turn this situation around."
