CM Punk weighs in on The Rock's return to the wrestling ring

The Rock made his in-ring return  at WrestleMania 40 on Saturday. He was part of the main event, a tag team match with Roman Reigns, who faced Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. It was the superstar's first official match in 11 years.

However, CM Punk was impressed with what he saw from The Rock and shared his thoughts on ESPN's post-show.

"I thought he looked great. As being somebody who wrestled him 10 years ago, the same questions were lobbied around," Punk said. h/t to Fightful for the transcription. "Everyone wanted to know what he was going to look like, how his wind was going to be. While there is a giant difference between a tag match or coming back to wrestle the champion, I thought he did well tonight. I thought he looked really good.

The Rock's return has generated significant buzz throughout the wrestling world. His performance at WrestleMania was impressive, considering his long absence from the ring. He could undoubtedly continue wrestling at an elite level for years to come. However, The Rock brings more than in-ring production. His presence draws ratings. His willingness to push boundaries will ensure WWE remains edgy and relatable to an adult crowd.

Earning praise from Punk isn't easy. He's seen as one of the world's most honest and outspoken wrestlers. Still, there's no denying that The Rock is significantly impacting his latest run with the company. How long that run lasts will now be one of the bigger questions on everybody's minds.
