The King of the Ring tournament will begin soon.

It was announced on Monday that the tournament to crown the next king of WWE will begin on next week’s Raw. The finals of the tournament will take place at WWE King & Queen of the Ring in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 25 at the Jeddah Super Dome. A tournament will also be held to crown the second-ever Queen of the Ring.

On last week’s Raw, Gunther declared that he was entering the King of the Ring tournament. Xavier Woods, who won the crown in 2021, came out and interrupted him. The two ended up in a match on this week’s show, with Gunther punishing Woods to the point that his New Day tag team partner, Kofi Kingston, considered throwing in the towel. Woods pleaded with Kingston not to do it, but ultimately tapped out to an STF by Gunther.

Woods won the King of the Ring tournament over two years ago by defeating Finn Balor in the finals at Crown Jewel in October of 2021. The first-ever Queen’s Crown tournament was decided at Crown Jewel as well, with Zelina Vega defeating Doudrop (Piper Niven) to become the first-ever tournament winner.

Here is what has been announced for next week's WWE Raw:
