Kota Ibushi is set to have surgery on Wednesday.
Kota Ibushi suffered an ankle injury but worked through it as he faced Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH The New Year on January 2. He was taken to the hospital, and he later said that he would be having surgery. NOAH announced that Ibushi was diagnosed with “a right tibiofibular ligament tear and a right ankle lateral ligament complex injury as a result of a more thorough examination than his initial diagnosis.”
In a tweet, Ibushi noted that he would be having surgery on January 17.

As of this writing, it is not known when Ibushi will return to the ring. He signed with AEW in November and competed on the November 15 episode of AEW Dynamite.
WrestleZone wishes Ibushi well ahead of his surgery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
