The NEVER Six Man Tag Team Championships had been vacant since January. They were vacated by Kazuchika Okada on behalf of his team with Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii after his final match in Korakuen Hall as a member of the NJPW roster.
Also on today's show, DOUKI earned a shot at IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion SHO by defeating Kosei Fujita. In recent months, upcoming challengers for this title have been stealing the belt from the champion. SHO attacked DOUKI after today's match in an attempt to steal back his belt, but he was unsuccessful.
Bishamon's Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI also successfully defended their IWGP Tag Team Championships on Sunday in Taiwan. They defeated Yuya Uemura and SANADA of Just 5 Guys.
Today's show was the kickoff event for the Asia Pacific Federation of Wrestling (APFW). The federation was formed with the goal of "broadening professional wrestling across Asia and worldwide" and features promotions from Japan, Singapore, Thailand, China, and Taiwan.
